Mock and Toof are brilliant. Some of my favorite production and remixes of the last two or three years are down to these guys from London as they blazed the “nu-disco” [yuk] trail. After excellent remixes for the likes of the Juan Maclean, Holy Ghost and Hot Chip and a couple of their own singles, Mock and Toof are releasing their debut long player Tuning Echoes, May 24th on their own Tiny Stump label.
The record will be more vocal that we might expect and the promises “murky, low-slung disco-pop … bleepy boogie … twinkling electro-pop … vocoder-aided disco-punk and even some slo-mo beatless arpeggiation.”
Whatever, if the lead single is anything to go by, I like it.
